I have just purchased a TomTom satnav and it's a great toy and it has been useful when I was diverted off a road due to an accident and the council hadn't had time to set up a diversion route, Alice (the TomTom) took me to where I was going.
I have Alice set up on the bottom right hand corner of my screen which is where you are supposed to have it, apparently. However, I have seen them placed underneath the mirror, so blocking out the middle bit of the screen; at the bottom middle of the screen, so leaving just a slit in the middle section of the screen.
Is there some sort of rule that says where these things should be placed and that they shouldnt obstruct the view through the screen ?
On another issue. I have a VW and according to the blurb it has "curtain air bags" that wizz over the front screen in the event of an accident. If I have Alice attached to the screen, what will happen to her ? Will she become a missile, effectively smashed from the screen by the air bag to hurtle goodness knows where inside the car ?
Perhaps Top Gear could do some research on this and the point I raised above ?
